The “Have a Heart…Heat A Home” Heatupstlouis.org Rise ‘N Shine Project Hits $303,000.00

(February 14, 2017) The final numbers for the 17th Annual Hardee’s Rise ‘N Shine for Heatupstlouis.org local franchise fundraiser, hits a final record of $303,000.00. This past weekend, customers were asked to drop off additional canister donations to about 60 area (MO/IL) local franchise Hardee’s restaurants.
This year, more than 675 volunteers collected tips from Hardee’s drive-thrus, menu boards, and dinning rooms during breakfast hours on Friday, February 10. The local Hardee’s franchise offered Sausage ‘N Egg and Egg biscuits for a special priced of $1.00 to its customers, and the entire proceeds from those sales, along with weekend canister collection donations will benefit Heatupstlouis.org and its Missouri and Illinois social service partners.
“It is our utmost effort to keep the people of the St. Louis region safe during winter months, when they face utility affordability issues,” jointly said, Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson, 2017 Rise ‘N Shine Co-chair and Reverend Earl E. Nance, Jr., chair emeritus. The public can still go online to Heatupstlouis.org and make tax-deductible donations where, 100% of those public funds will be used for utility assistance, as the 58-member all volunteer board underwrites its administrative operation.
Heatupstlouis.org officials insisted that the St. Louis media’s unique partnerships ensured the overall success of this project and all HUSTL projects dealing with the public’s health, safety and affordability of utilities.
