First Annual Summer Utility Forum to Help St. Charles County Clients with Ameren Missouri Utility Bills, Up to $350
Cool Down St. Louis, the Missouri Public Service Commission and Ameren Missouri, in partnership with the Community Council of St. Charles County, will hold their first Summer Utility Forum on July 26, from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Community Commons at the Spencer Road Library on 427 Spencer Road in St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
Pre-registration is open exclusively to St. Charles County residents who are having difficulty paying their current or delinquent Ameren electric bills. A disconnection notice is not required. Volunteers from Ameren Missouri, Cool Down St. Louis, Community Council of St. Charles, Salvation Army of St. Charles, Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Services, NECAC, and the Society of Saint Vincent DePaul will help St. Charles County residents with energy efficiency tips, budget billing and financial literacy. Cooldownstlouis.org will also pay down their delinquent or current utility bill up to $350 per household with a live pledge on site. The Missouri Public Service Commission will also be on hand informing Summer Utility Forum participants of their utility consumer rights.
Participants must be pre-registered by noon on Wednesday, July 24, two days prior to the event, through one of four social service and community action partners of Cooldownstlouis.org. All participants will also receive a free set of Ameren energy-efficient light bulbs. If a participant is due for disconnection and doesn’t show up for their pre-scheduled appointment, they are subject to disconnection, according to organizer Heat-Up St. Louis, Inc., (cooldownstlouis.org).
After you have pre-registered, you will receive from the social service partner, an official confirmation postcard via U.S. Postal Service. All seniors, physically disabled and low-to-moderate income head of households must bring a copy of their photo I.D. and a utility bill.
